Do You Love Me
Label: Good Talk LLC
Big K.R.I.T. is a Southern spiritualist in the trap era. He loves candy-painted rides (see "Do You Love Me" for proof), but his refusal to be a street hustler makes him an outlier. He asks what happened to the "Soul Food," and his "Mo Better Cool" is the type of Dirty South throwback that he's made his specialty. On another outstanding cut, "Angels," he sings, "I think God must have cried, 'cause I can't describe all this rain in my life." Although he can get preachy on the Lupe Fiasco-assisted "Lost Generation," Cadillactica is a successful foray into the Mississippi rapper's "Third Eye."
