Ghost Of Love
Label: Decca (UMO)
The Celtic rockabilly queen quickens the tempos a bit for her fourth album of anachronistic guitar swing, adding touches of burlesque and a few smoky torch songs to her Brian Setzer/Stray Cats sound. And she keeps up the feint admirably for a full-length, with nothing here betraying this album's 2014 copyright -- even the decidedly non-'50s guitar filters on "Wicked Way" are pure '80s. As always, co-writer and hubby guitarist Darrel Higham proves the worthiest of side attractions, a fiery Cliff Gallup to Imelda's cool Gene Vincent.
