Today I Started Loving You Again
John Fogerty

After Creedence fell apart in 1972, Fogerty released a homespun collection of country and gospel covers titled The Blue Ridge Rangers. Why did one of the great songwriters of the Woodstock generation not write a single tune for his declaration of independence? C.C.R., the singer then claimed, had drained his creative juices. This isn't a problem, considering Fogerty is also a great interpreter capable of making chestnuts like "California Blues" and "Workin' on a Building" totally his own.
