It Don't Matter To The Sun

Don't confuse Matthew Morrison with his famous character: the earnest, fly-boy-scout director of Glee. Sure, his debut finds the former Broadway star standards ("Somewhere Over the Rainbow," a duet with Gwyneth Paltrow) and heavily stylized, candlelight-and-heartbreak originals. And like his character, he charms the pants off every girl and her grandma with Pinot Grigio-smooth vocals and beach-picnic –meets-Broadway style. But there are a few surprises: a decent dance cut, an only slightly painful duet with Elton John. When he stops over-styling it, that rich, resonant voice is impressive.
