About Midnight Star
Much loved for their synth-fuelled, funked-out dance jams, Midnight Star scored a series of hit singles in the early 1980s. Founded by the Calloway brothers in Kentucky circa '76, they released seven records over the course of the eighties, including their immensely popular No Parking On The Dancefloor. Fusing elements of R&B, Disco, Funk, and e=Electro, they were perfect for the club circuit and were later sampled by many hip-hop producers. Midnight Star reunited for a few more projects during the nineties and has five different hits collections to their credit. Their best-known tunes include "Freak-A-Zoid," "Curious," "Operator," and "Don't Rock The Boat."
