Although his career is built on quality releases with lots of technical muscle, guitarist and songwriter Sonny Landreth has long existed in the margins of American guitar players -- somewhat doomed to the fate of being a guitar player's guitar player. On this release, Landreth's exceptional playing is joined by the marquee names that prove his cred in the industry -- Eric Claption, Dr. John, Jimmy Buffett, Vince Gill and Eric Johnson among them -- but Landreth's songs are so solid that the album doesn't spin like a typical guest gorge.
