Jacka's trajectory is a familiar one: he went from "a crack deala' with a couple grand in my sock to a young gangsta running the spot." But he's haunted by the past, paranoid of the present and pessimistic for the future, so he "drinks the pain away," lives in an herbal haze and fills his life with the accruements of his relative success: namely, girls and cars. The production owes more to windy Eastern soul than to thumping Western funk, which suits Jacka's thug confessionals. The beautiful, hypnotizing "Glamorous Life" with San Francisco rap staple Andre Nickatina is a standout.
